Solo talent

Is about to begin!!

Sent from my I-Phone

Closed meeting

With contestants, then with the formers.

Ready for the competition to begin- 8 hours til Solo Talent judging starts!!

Talent

Three minute setup and three minute breakdown.

Dancers should be together.

Make sure hip pads are as concealed as you can get them. Camoflauge the lines.

Emotion? entertain the judges. Lip sync on point. Make sure you don't give them anythging to take off for. If you leave stage, make sure it's for a reason. Come back with somethinmg different.

Onstage question

Fornulate before you answer your question.

Think

Breathe

It's OK!

We're not here to intimidate. It's supposed to be fun.

On evening gown

Suitability
Makeup
Length of gowm - 1/2" off floor

Pay attention to minute details. When scoring these, the judges are looking at the details.

Be creative. This is not a cookie cutter system!

Make sure your shoes match your gown!!! Leather pumps are not suitable for evening gown. Make sure the shoes compliment your gown.

Accessories- if it takes away from the gown, don't do it! If they are looking at the jewelry more than the gown, then it's too much UNLESS the gown warrants that jewelry.

Hair jewelry is a judges decision. I recommend no hair jewelry. It may work against you.

WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR AN OVERSTATED IMAGE.

NO visible tattoos!

On solo talent

Props may be used but if it is dropped or put down, 25 administrative points will be deducted.

You will be judged on lip syn and entertainment value. Be impeccable.

Don't forget, can NOT be more tham three minutes.

Victoria DePaula on male interview

is addressing the contestants. Going over the rules. Giving pointers for male interview. This IS a job interview. SEAL THE DEAL! Make them understand why you should have that crown placed on your head at the end of the week.

Make sure your suits are lint free and wrinkle free. It's the details that win the pageant. Be consistent. How long and how hard have you studied.

The judges are going to judge you on HOW you answer the question.

BE HONEST! We are looking for a leader, not a bunch of bull.

Show your leadership skills in male interview.

We are not only looking for a female illusionist, but also an administrator!!

IT'S NOT JUST YOUR PERFORMANCE ON STAGE!

Contestant order

Contestants are drawing for the order of performance.

Rotation:

Odd numbers do gown first, then talent
Even numbers do talent first, then gown

Big Daddy

We are going to go by the books. I take on each one of you as my girls. If you have any problems, you come see Big Daddy.

I am going to see to it that the person who wears the crown home tomorrow night will be picked by the JUDGES! Not by myself, or Dominique or Anastacia.

ANYBODY who wants to compete WILL have the chance to win.

And from Dominique- NO booing from any contestant when the outcome is announced!

Message from Victoria DePaula, MGA 2009

If it is your dream to be Miss Gay Louisiana America, don't give up on your dreams. Dreams DO come true!

Your promoters DO care. You couldn't ask for better promoters. Welcome them with open arms. To Dominique and Big Daddy it is an honor to have you in the system.

The scores are the scores. I tabulate the scores. Assure yourself that the outcome will be the right one.
